2007 Reunion 

Can You Help Out ???   I am looking for any information on the small transmitter discovered on the shaft of one of the props on the LeJeune.  An article was passed out during one of the early Reunions.  If you still have a copy, or know someone that may have a copy, I would like to post it here on the site.  Please email a copy to Admin@usslejeune.com or via US Mail to:

You Can Help !!! 

There are many service men and women stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan who are not receiving mail from home.  YOU CAN HELP.  Become a Soldiers' Angel.  This is a grass roots effort to make sure all our troops know that the job they do is appreciated, and that they are loved and missed. Also check out GI Bracelets.  Make a donation and the purchase price goes to support Soldiers' Angels or many other support groups set up to help our troops deployed, in hospital or the families of the fallen hero's.  The bracelet states "For Those Who Serve".

Bill Lodder has graciously shared his collection of photos with me, and I have finally gotten around to posting them here.  If you have some you would like to share with the crew, please contact me.

Raymond Peterson and Family has provided a menu from the LeJeune dated July 4th, 1945.   I am posting the contents of the menu along with the scanned image  here.  

Walter Godinho has provided insight into the Windhuk's history.  With his assistance, I have updated the History page.  Stop by and take a look. Frank Farren has shared some pictures of the LeJeune from 1945 and 1946.  Atlantic and Pacific tour.  Stop by to check them out.
