**NOTE: The Hotel does not have an in-house restaurant, however arrangements have been made for a conitnental breakfast each morning starting at 0800. It will include coffee, cereals, milk, juices, sweet rolls, and an Indianapolis favorite, Long's Bakery Donuts.  If you must have a hot breakfast, you can use the shuttle to go downtown, hitch a ride with a shipmate or cook in your room

Schedule of Events:

Wednesday, June 18 - Check in at hotel with Reunion registration in lower level meeting room. Night free for dining in downtown Indy. If driving, you can find parking downtown. If not driving, you can use the hotel shuttle. 

Thursday, June 19 - War Memorial Tour, lunch, Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Indianapolis Zoo. Price 40.00 Per person. Includes Transportation, Admission and Lunch

Bus leaves hotel at 0930. First stop, Indiana World War Memorial, then to Monument Circle Memorial, University Park Memorials, Congressional Medal of Honor Memorail and finally, the USS Indianapolis Memorial. (More memorials here to service men than Washington DC)

Bus then goes to Indianapolis Motor Speedway Brickyard Restaurant for Buffet lunch . 1200 -1300. Visit Speedway Museum with possible trip around the track.

Head to the Zoo at 1415. Leave Zoo at 1600 for trip back to hotel.  Evening Open

Friday, June 20 - Roepke Armor Museum, Crawfordsville, IN.  Price 22.00 per person.  This is one place Indianapolis natives want to show off to their friends who have been in the service. It is a large private collection of tanks, vehicles and aircraft from WWI, WWII and Vietnam. Fred Roepke, who ran a highly successful printing business in Indy has collected the items through the years and most of them have been totally reconditioned.

Bus leaves hotel at 1130 and stops at the MCL Cafeteria in Speedway for a Dutch Lunch (pay for yourself). Back on board by 1230 for ride to Roepke compound near Crawford. We will arrive around 1315 and stay till 1530. Return to hotel for free night on the town.

NOTE: This tour does involve walking, but there are benches and plenty of places to rest if you need to take a break.

Saturday, June 21 - Ship's Company Meeting - 0930. Assemble in the meeting room. Ladies will hold separate meeting.  Free until dinner at Iron Skillet Restaurant  Price 30.00 per person. This is where the natives go to treat family and friends to a great meal. It is famous for its homestyle fried chicken dinners and steaks. 

Bus leaves for Dinner 1730. Cash bar 1830, dinner 1830.

Menu:  Filet Mignon, Fried Chicken and French Fried Shrimp (served homestyle). Includes potatoes, vegetable, salad, appetizer and dessert.

 

Special Note for those flying in: There is an Indy GO shuttle services charging $7.00 per persons available at the airport. You can contact them there, or call 1-317-635-3344 or visit www.indygo.net for more information. IndyGo will take you to the Indianapolis Convention Center where you can call the hotel 317-536-7700 for the hotel shuttle to pick you up.
